PEPTONE

The general meaning of peptone is a soluble protein formed in the early stage of protein breakdown during digestion. It is water-soluble protein derivatives obtained by partial hydrolysis of a protein by an acid or enzyme during digestion. Peptone offered by Titan Biotech is suitable for preparation of Microbiological Culture Media, in Industrial Fermentation’s and in Media fill trials.
They are excellent natural sources of amino acids, peptides and proteins in growth media. It is obtained by enzymatic digestion or acid hydrolysis of natural products, such as animal tissues, milk, plants or microbial cultures which is useful for commercial production of enzymes, vaccines, antibiotics and other products.

  1. PASTE PEPTONE

    The paste is derived from peptones those are being used in microbiological studies to support the nutritional requirements of microorganisms. This paste is basically a Casein which is milk protein. It is being digested with the enzyme pepsin. The color of the product becomes dark tan and it is a thick paste.

Appearance

Light yellowish to brownish yellow color free-flowing powder having a characteristic odor.

Solubility

(2% soln. at 25o c)- Soluble in distilled water, clear.

  1. POWDER PEPTONE

    There is no such difference between paste form and powder form of peptone apart from the appearances. The powder is basically a casein which is milk protein. The color of the powder is Light yellowish to brownish yellow color free flowing powder having characteristic odour.

Appearance

– A dark tan color thick paste having a characteristic odor but not pungent smell.

Soluble in distilled water, Clear, Insoluble in Alcohol
